Eternal derby. 144th time in a row. A feast of football in Serbia, or at least it should be. The decisive match for the title. Game of life or death.  The stadium was sold out and the stadium in Humska after long time again were filled almost to the last place. Old champion is the new champion. Although the better team won by goal in 90 minutes, football was bad. The fans with their performance did not disappoint. They sang, beat up between themselves and literally they set fire on the stand. Therefore, a lot of foreigners coming to these matches to enjoy to this kind of cheerleading which  probably there is no more anywhere in Europe. Regardless of all that there is some magic which must be kept...

Smederevo is a city in Serbia, on the right bank of the Danube, about 45 km downstream of the capital Belgrade and has a very favorable traffic position
Stadium of the football club Smederevo is located at the entrance to the city from Belgrade in the direction of the old road through Grocka. Officially name that is used is the city's stadium or stadium FK Smederevo, but is widely used the name Tvrđava (fortress). The walk from city center takes about 15 minutes, that from the city’s main bus station 5 minutes more. In its current form stadium consists of a football pitch, four stands, two semicircular building and changing rooms below northern part of the stand. Work on the construction lasted from 1993 to 2000, but the project still has not brought the end. Gives the impression of a real football stadium, without athletic tracks and with a seating capacity of 17,200 places. On it plays its home matches FK Smederevo, the club that was founded in 1924 and through its time of existence is changed many names. Under the name FK Sartid made the biggest successful in its history, winning the National Cup in 2003. Unfortunately today the club is one step away from relegation from the super league. Tickets were available on the gate before the start of the match and tickets cost either €3 for the area behind the goals, or €4 for a seat at one of the other two stands. It was expected that the guest much easier to win, but at the end, for local fans unhappy defeat in the last minutes of the match.

The eternal derby is the local derby in Belgrade in Serbia, between the most fierce rivals, Red Star and Partizan. These two teams are the most popular in the country. Derby matches were always greatly anticipated in the entire region and very popular in the world, so it's not surprising when a lot of people from abroad come to this match, especially groundhoppers. It is more than a game! There are many derbies in world football but very few compare to this. Incidents between the two sides are almost indispensable part of the story. Pyrotechnics, fireworks and incredible noise are always present at the match. This game is always of extreme importance for both sides as can often be decisive in championship. Still derby is the most beautiful thing in Serbian football. Today was the 143th and the first time it happened that one team leads at halftime and the second win at the end.

"Why some support  their own local club? When your club has never been first, when your club will probably never be first, why somebody going consistently to matches of its city club, who had been played by the years in lower leagues. Why? It is a question that is decades old. Because I love my  neighborhood  where I was born and where I grew up. Because I do not have another town. Because I love my neighborhood where I met my buddies, made friends for the lifetime and I do not have other end. Because I love my street where I made my first steps, the street where I am every day, it is small and nondescript but it's mine! Because I looked the first game at the stadium of Spartak. The stadium is old and dilapidated, no floodlights, no scoreboard but it is my stadium and I do not have second stadium. Because the first jersey that I saw was a blue white. Perhaps for the others that color jersey is ugly and irrelevant but these are my colors and for the other colors I do not know. And my love and attitude I will extend to my children, if you do that, all you who are reading this, in front of our club and the city is beautiful future."

Cold, windy but dry weather in Belgrade. The only game in town on Tuesday. What else could I do but go there, on the Red Star Stadium (Stadion Crvene Zvezde) but the majority just called him "Marakana". The stadium is multi use stadium and is used for football matches and athletic competitions. The stadium is all-seated and the capacity is around 53,000 seats. It is the home stadium of FK Crvena Zvezda (eng. Red Star) but is also in most cases, the stadium where plays national team. I often came upon him exactly in those circumstances, to support national team.
The first football stadium in this location was constructed in 1927. That stadium was demolished in 1959 and on the its grounds started to build new, which was finished in 1963. Then he had a capacity of almost 110,000 viewers and therefore got the nickname "Marakana". Today the figure is significantly reduced by placing a chair on all four stand following the modernization of football facilities and respecting the rigorous demands of UEFA.
Back to game. In today's duel host was the favorite against a second league football team. We met Banat some time ago, you can see here. I went to the East where the tickets cost 400 rsd. To the north were the most dedicated fans, Delije. That stand was the most visited. It was still viewers in the east and west while the south was empty. "Red and White" have much trouble in this duel, during 90 minutes did not have any real goal chance against guests who fiercely defended and dangerously threatened from the counterattack. Fans from north again seek victory, but with play of their players can not be satisfied. At the end of the match, the most interesting things have happened. In 75 minutes the first goalkeeper from Africa defended for Red Star. It's not a joke. Up to this point the host has made all three substitutions of players. Then their goalkeeper was sent off but defender from Ghana stood at the goal. And when all expected penalty shootouts, referee at 96 minutes showed the penalty for Red Star. Added time was 5 minutes! Penalty, goal and the end of the match.
