Békéscsaba, Kórház utcai stadion
att: 800
On Saturday morningIsaton the busto Szeged, Hungary. From thereI wenttoBékéscsaba, with the intentiontolook ata team thatwas onceplayedthe Europeancompetitionswhile today'sis second-division team. Békéscsaba (or shorterCsaba) is a townin Eastern Hungary with some sixtythousand inhabitants. Itis easy toget there, even reachthe stadiumwhich is locatedon the otherside of the cityinrelation to thebusstation. Csabacenterisvery nicewith apedestrianzone, atwhose endthere aretwohugechurches followed by thestreetKórház. There isstadium thathas a nameexcept forthe streetalso hassimple nameBekescsabaiStadion. Fromthe streetit was apparently ahugestadium. The stadium was built in 1974 and has acapacity ofaround10,500spectators. There are severalgatesto enterfrom the street. Admission was 700Ft which is slightlymore than 2euros. It does not matteron whichgateyou enter, because once you're insidethe stadium, you can go onstand thatyou want. On the street sideis the largeststand, divided into sectorswith acageforthe visitingfans, whichthere was nottoday. On the oppositeside is acoveredstandwith woodenbenches forseating. At itsendto theclubbuildingis something thatI likein Hungary, buffet. Pleaseone "Soproni" beer, thank you...butI drankbetterbeers. Behind thestandthere isan auxiliarypitch withartificialgrass. I think thelatestbuilt stand, with plasticseats and an electricscoreboard, is located behind thegoal on western side. On itwas thegroup oflocal fans called"BadBoys". A couplegirlsand a fewnot sobad guys. In somemoments ofthe gameexcept the playerson the fieldI heardhowpeople eatsnacks! Incrediblesilence. Fromthe gameI wasexpectingmore. Looking atsomeof the previousresultsI thought it wouldbe alot of goals. In the end,only0-0. Therewasexcitement andchances to scoreduring a match, but todaywas not destinedto seesome goals.
